My closing argument…Primary Election Day is tomorrow!June 25, 2018
After a long campaign season, and a lot of mail, phone calls, and door knocks, the PRIMARY ELECTION IS TOMORROW.
Once again, I am humbly asking for your vote so that I can continue the progress that we have made and to look forward to a brighter future together.
I have had the honor and privilege of serving you in Annapolis for the last 10 years. When I first became a Delegate, I made a commitment to you. I said that every email, phone call, and communication from a constituent would be returned. That I would always explain my position on votes and listen when you expressed yours. That I would look to you to set the direction of my legislative agenda. That your concerns would be the driving force of my office.
In that time we have worked together to accomplish some amazing things, even when we were told it would never happen.
I made it illegal for businesses to use someone’s credit history against them in hiring, forced insurance companies to pay for treatment costs for kids with autism, broke the car dealer’s deadlock so that electric cars can be sold in Maryland, create a first in the nation tax credit for energy storage to give people the freedom to determine their own energy future, and so many other accomplishments.
And with my colleagues, we worked to expand health care access to hundreds of thousands of Marylanders, made marriage a right for all, expanded funding for public education to historic levels, gave Dreamers the opportunity to go to college, and worked to make college an affordable option for everyone.
So what’s left? There is so much left to do:
Championing Single Payer Healthcare that can actually work in our State.
Fighting for a $15 minimum wage so that all Marylanders can get a basic living wage
Working for Expanding of Voting Rights so every Marylander can be part of the process.
Guaranteeing Net Neutrality for Marylanders
Ending Gerrymandering through Fair Redistricting
Pushing for a 100% Clean, Renewable Energy Economy
*Working towards Criminal Justice Reform and Fair Treatment for All
I’ve already started fighting for these issues, but now, I need your help to finish what I’ve started.
TOMORROW, JUNE 26th, I am asking for your vote for me and my legislative team.
